The Gateway to Medical Colleges in India


NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, and other medical programs in government and private medical colleges across India. NEET is one of the toughest and most competitive exams for students aspiring to enter the medical field.

Subjects Covered:

o Physics
o Chemistry
o Biology (Botany and Zoology)

Exam Pattern

o Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
o Numerical Value Questions (with negative marking)
o The exam consists of 3 sections:
Section A 35 MCQs (from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology)
Section B 15 Numerical Value questions (from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).


Total Questions

200 Questions in total (35 MCQs and 15 Numerical Value Questions for each subject).
Out of the total, students have the option to attempt 180 Questions.

Negative Marking

Section A (MCQs): Each incorrect answer will result in -1 mark.
Section B (Numerical Value Questions): Each incorrect answer will result in -1 mark.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31st of the year of examination.
Educational Qualification:

o Candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent with at least 50% marks (for General category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
o 50% marks in Class 12th for General category; 40% for OBC/SC/ST categories.

Number of Attempts: No limit on the number of attempts for NEET.

Eligibility for State Quotas and All India Quota: NEET scores are used for admission under All India Quota (AIQ) as well as for state-level counseling.
